If you are a graduate/junior developer be very careful about joining a small Ltd company.

You would get better support in a bigger team and have better insight of the industry in a bigger organisation.

I wouldn't say that's necessarily true. I work at a very small company and if I wanted to I'm pretty sure they'd let me work a bit on the business side of things just so I could learn.

One thing I haven't learned anything about, for better or worse, is workplace politics, which seem non-existent in a very small company.

@neeno that’s very nice that you work in a supportive team and company. I’m sure you can learn a lot from them.

As you say that’s true, a company that has an HR, set policies and guidelines, internal communication portal, separate IT team to raise tickets to, and layers of management and marketing department.. that’s a different kind of experience. You can have a wider knowledge about how businesses operate and how people and departments interact.

That being said, working in a small team/company that helps you grow could make you a great developer too.
