@vintprox Only if that was easy. My question is more about tone. Like how not to sound rude but confident nonetheless.
-
I think the confident person shouldn't have a problem with saying "I don't know"
-
Hmmm
Be somewhat critical in your thinking
Recognize that other people have failings
Recognize that some people have failings that make them fucked up assholes and don’t give allowances to them as this can make you bitter
Try to be humble and always remember someone out there is smarter than you
Try to take joy in what you do
Measure your actions calmly and try to create a self track record of successfully finishing things
Stay away from people who constantly blow up your self esteem suspiciously as if they are trying to endear themselves to you before causing a hard fall
Etc -
I would add do not become a moderator on stack overflow and stay out of their chat rooms
-
@SortOth i dunno so in the end when noone loves you you can determine its because of them being hateful monsters and not you
-
It’s tricky because if you’re working with mature technical people, they can tell the difference between confidence and arrogance simply based on whether you know what you’re talking about.
If you’re dealing with management, there’s probably a culture of being arrogant in order to get ahead. Management is definitively about fake confidence and being pretentious. Those traits are what get you to the top of the corporate clusterfuck.
