I don’t see my myself ever becoming a team lead or PM because I fucking hate meetings. Imagine spending the whole working hours attending meetings! Jesus Fucking Christ!

I do that, basically, and I’m still expected to be a productive dev. Between two and four hours of meetings a day, and being productive too, too? It’s just not possible.

It’s a living hell. I got into programming to write code and solve problems. As a manager I have 4-5 hours of meeting a day, at least, not always at sociable times. And then you have to deal with all your teams personal problems, office politics, management. I’m still expected to get jira tickets done too.

Don’t do it, unless you really want to go into management. There are better paths.

We had about 4 hours of meetings a week at the last place I worked
    Mostly design meetings
Maybe an hour of status meetings a week as well
And the occasional customer meet and greet
