I would probably be guilty of stuff like that. I’m older and it’s easy to get set in one’s ways. It’s also hard as hell to keep up with everything new we’re supposed to be adding, adopting, and using these days. I finally just gave up training for hours on all the new ways of doing things, technologies, or frameworks only to use them once on a limited basis in 3 years and then completely forget how to do any of it for the next time that it popped up.

620hun83703y@stackodev it’s fine if you can put your ego aside. There’s nothing wrong with saying “huh, I haven’t thought about that” and changing it.
I’m pretty confident about my knowledge, but I’ll always consider criticism. -
shine9693y@IntrusionCM I wouldn't say that to someone who's 'smarter' or more intelligent than I am ( according to my standards; in my head ), people whose work I respect.
for everyone else ( don't care about their age or years of experience ); I would comment the same thing -
@shine well. If they're more smart... They would explain why.
And respect comes from both sides.
An answer like that is in my opinion either a disrespectful way of saying: fuck of moron or a moody don't want to talk thing. Last is ok, can happen - it would be nicer to ask politely but I like to live dangerously. XD -
shine9693y@molaram what about respect that they should give other people? surely, they cannot stop caring about that?
-
shine9693y@molaram if they got to that point, then they should retire to themselves and stop being a burden to other people.
Reviewed the code of a dev almost twice my age and asked why they used relative imports for seemingly no reason.
Response: “because I can”
OK, then.
