So tired of LinkedIn recruiters thinking software development is the same as IT. Yes there are some overlap of skills but I'm not going to switch from web development to maintaining exchange servers.

Tell me about it I keep getting phone calls saying they found a copy of my cv from like 7 years ago and asking me if I want to change jobs. Also keep getting LinkedIn requests asking if I want a junior asp.net / JavaScript role even though my experience shows that I'm senior!!!

Recruitment agents really love to waste your time, I like to waste there time by just answering the call and then just putting the phone down and let them talk and check every now and then to see if they are still there !

I'm in IT (learning dev in spare time) and half the jobs I see in my area are 'junior' positions that require knowledge of all things IT and development and they're not even considered dev jobs. What's worse is that the pay is ridiculously low.

Finding a great recruiter is rare. Most play the numbers game and fall by the wayside. They are often off the mark in matching candidates to job reqs.

You're lucky they don't ask you to fix their PCs :) because you know ... "you're IT"
