@Krokoklemme if that was intended to be satirical, people didn't get it. If it wasn't, the joke is that walking right while going up would put you one the same side as walking on the left while going down.

@SecondThread it depends on how you look at it. Seen from the perspective of an individual: yes, they will keep running into each other
Seen from an absolute point, for example the beginning of the stairs, it makes perfect sense
