I used to kill some time reading devrant some years ago and I just stopped because most rants were basically whinny little teenagers that think they know everything, keepers of knowledge and truth, being clearly crying babies about “ boo-hooo my coworker is not using the language I like” or something they clearly still have a lot to learn about.

Grow the fuck up. I guarantee you that when you have a few more years of experience you’ll realize how little you knew and how great you thought you were when in reality you knew shit.

Hell, I’m on my 16th year of programming experience and what o thought I knew last year had so many knowledge gaps.

Friendly advise, be more humble. You know shit. Get off your high horse and consider for a second you’re not as smart you think you are.

With that said, there are some really good rants here. But it didn’t change much from years ago.

The Irony of you making a new account just to flaunt how much better and humbler you are from everyone else is not lost on me.

I don't disagree with the rant, but was it really so important to say this? Sounds like a drunk calling his ex explaining why she actually sucks.

Just come from your real profile

I am two years into SDE and I have had this "shit, I knew shit last year" experience so many times.

@Hazarth it’s not a new account. It’s a account. I tried to recover my old one but I have no idea what email I used back in the day.

@Hazarth Also, is any rant important to say? Just like mine, I’d say no, there isn’t one.

As any other rant, it’s just venting into the void (or this website). Discussing the usefulness of a rant is an exercise in futility in my mind.

@wakawaka Im just saying, you went through the entire process of registering a new account because you couldn't recover the old one just to post that you don't like this place.

It's just an interesting pattern that caught my eye.

@Hazarth to post A thing I don’t like. If I was totally frustrated and annoyed I’d just not use it at all. But as I said before, there are some good rants that either make me laugh or at the very least feel a “I know how it feels”

It's true, as someone mentioned on reddit once, framework wars are usually a sign of inexperience. I recently vented on Node, however to be frank, I don't really think it's bad by itself, all I am is being frustrated with a poor legacy project that is burdened with poorly maintained node modules.

That being said - you request everyone to be humble, but where is the humbliness in your post? After 16 years of working in the field I presume you know of the value of social skills.

@Maer I honestly don’t see how ranting about “know it all” developers is me not being humble.

Annoying maybe, but I even made the point that after years I’m still learning shit haha.

And I’ll be honest here. It’s not uncommon for me to see the “new generation” discussing about things I barely know about, which is fine. Year after year one starts to specialize more in their area and have other problems to solve other than learning every new tech available.

My problem is that I see people who clearly are on the first steps yelling to the world that the world is wrong and they are right. I used to do that in my teens as well and I’m pretty embarrassed by those memories.
