A word of advice to any new Arch user: don't use lxdm for your display manager. It's utter shit. The package hijacks the symlink of any other DM when you install it, and it refocuses the DM on a 5 second loop while it's running, making it a pain in the ass to use a VT. LightDM was broken temporarily so I had to install it, but frankly, I don't ever want to touch thiis piece of software again.

I haven't used lxde in years because it's always been trash.

It was made by someone just fucking around in QT.

    No thanks.

@sariel I installed lxdm because one day lightdm segfaulted and I needed something that I could install in 2 minutes and that could launch xfce4 without any configuration.

Though a lot of it sounds like packaging issues... As in: Arch's packager fault, not necessarily lxde

@IntrusionCM I'm fairly certain the Arch package doesn't reset the active VT on a loop; it's not really supposed to exist at all outside the context of installing and removing programs.

The symlink hijacking may be an Arch thing, but it isn't undone on uninstall.
