Just made my first PCB!

my first "pcb" I used cables for the circuits ;)

@flag0 Yeah, although I did have to try several times before the print even got onto the board, and I even had to fill in some cracks with a marker

@filthyranter @fox8091 yes it will connect components, and the components will (together with my raspberry pi) controll a led strip on my desk. Hoping to hook it up with some sort of back end so I could controll it through an iOS app

What etchand did you use? Did you use the transfer method?

@localghost I first used an iron to transfer the print, then I used sodiumpersulfate (I think that's what it's called) to etch off the copper

Try photogravure and iron thricloride as etchant, with copper you got endothermic reaction and it works well at 50 celsius degrees. You can control how aggressive the reaction is adjusting the temperature, in this way you can etch successfully lines with 0.5 millimeters width and your pcb will be more accurate. With this method i have successfully traced tracks between an IC pins :) But be careful because iron thricloride makes your clothes hopelessly dirty hahaha, however the smokes are less toxic :)

Sick man. Inventables sells a mini cnc called an xcarve that people use to mill pcbs. You should check it out.
