Rooting. Y or N?

    Same awnser as if you want to beable to trade your phone in for a new one later for a credit

    He can unroot by flashing a pristine stock firmware.
    Even bootloader unlocking is reversible, at least on Sony, sent a xperia back to them relocked and unrooted with no problems whatsoever, no warranty void issues.
    But, yes, the phone must be semi functional to revert that.

    It's crazy that you can't get root access by default to a thing you actually paid for.

    The first thing I do when installing a new phone is rooting it tbh (for that matter, i firewall (etc) my phones)

    OnePlus 3T owner here, rooting is encouraged :)
    Just know the security issues that come with rooting (also, Android Pay doesn't work for that reason if you're rooted)

    Like @Bikonja said, make sure the apps you use on a day to day basis don't have a safetynet check
