Somebody once said to me: "I see no difference between a Git repository and a GitHub repository."
Well, mister, did you know that GitHub uses several repositories for every project? GitHub's interface is certainly not redundant or unneeded.

    Huh? GitHub is just a public collection of Git repositories.. it's basically cloud storage with added social and productivity features for Git.

    @ALivingMemory That guy's meaning was that Git can do everything that GitHub can do, and GitHub is just a UI. That's certainly not the case.
