Because they have a lot of data centres.

A network of many servers = AS, autonomous system

Several autonomous systems are joined via BGP (more or less dynamically)

Et voila we have an internet

Dramatically simplified and not entirely correct... But it's the basic gist.

Would be nice if it could stay like that
