I'm thinking about creating a "poll" in devRant. So then everybody could participate in the poll instead of posting the choice as a comment

Nice but I think it would turn devRant into a polling station with endless repetitive polls, there will probably be at least 50 on IDE, operating system, language. All pointless. At least with comments you can potentially gain insight into someones view, and maybe even change your own. If polls were to be introduced I'd rather see it done by the founders as a weekly poll on some useful and intelligent question, where the results can be displayed at the end of the week, and open to comment. This would be better I think. You could always suggest a poll.

I'm seeing a lot of poll rants here with lots of similar comments.
At least with polls it's easier to count and observe the answers and you don't need to read that much comment. But there should be a limit for everyone to avoid creating many polls.

Had the same idea as you, but didn't search carefully enough, apparently. I've thought of something that might make this lucrative for Team Devrant too.
