Some of the adhesives are just too strong. 3M VHB (very high bond) have the same trouble

If it's just the trouble of getting a corner off, knife trick might help.

But looks in your case more like the VHB got either in contact with sth or is a cheap one...

I'd ask for refund. If it doesn't work, send it back where it came from.
