Fucking Pixel 6.... Worst upgrade ever ...

Already the battery is crapping out.... As of last night, it maxes out at 72%....

What happened to adaptive charging that's supposed to make the battery last longer...

Should've kept my 4a 5g and returned this instead...

It sounded too good to be true.
It was unfortunately pretty obvious they would release another junk product with fancy bullshit, no revolution this year.

    What's up with the battery?

From my experience (with a 4a 5G) it looks for an alarm for the next morning, so if, say, you plug it in at 00:00, it will charge in such a way that it only reaches 100% by the alarm time (otherwise it charges from 0 to 100 in less than two hours). Does it not work like that with the 6?

I'm sorry to hear that... I've definitely been worried about having a first gen chip on my phone. I'd assumed it would cause some issues. I plan on keeping my 4a 5G for a couple more years (at least until it stops getting updates) as I'm pretty pleased with how it performs.

@kamen I turned off adaptive charging as soon as realized last night it wasn't charging above. 70%.

Still didn't budge after an hr.

@Bruk as far as I know it's an Exynos chip sold with a different name, so it shouldn't be something completely new, aka first gen.
They had been always bad at battery consumption.

@JS96 thanks for the knowledge on the chip. I've also had lots of trouble with Google branded phones and battery. My Nexus 6P was absolutely abysmal at battery usage and the nexus 5x before that. It's my current 4a that's actually given me a day+ of battery. Completely different (and great) experience for me.

@donuts Sounds like a defective unit. If you turn off adaptive charging, it should fall back to fast charging right away.

@kamen did a full recharge after draining it to 0.... Now back to 100% but hopefully it actually lasts as long as before...
