For a first job, is it better to have a large company backing you, or going to a startup?

I realise being in a startup means more exposure to different technologies, but how would each impact future job prospects?

I think your first job should be at a large structured company where you'll learn chain of command, office politics and "bureaucratic workflow".

Then you can move to startups and smaller companies.

@nickpapoutsis That bureaucratic work flow is no joke.
Also, in larger companies you can get away with a bit more since you're a much smaller cog in the machine, so there's a bit more job security by being overlooked.
I don't mean to say you should slack off or anything, but it allows for missteps as you learn the ropes.
