Someone in my mind, I see programmers who use Windows as “unserious” and “don’t really know what they’re doing”. I always catch myself every time because I know that this is entirely false. And smart people actually use the tools they’re most comfortable in to get the job done. At the end of the day, what really matters is how much money you’re making for the capitalists at the top.

The last sentence makes me think the whole post is sarcastic

Hey, they could be serious, they just don't know better *yet*. I did serious dev on windows until I finally took the plunge out of frustration and now Im never going back.

So yeah, I agree, but Win just wasn't made for dev. So I can't blame you for thinking that initially either. It makes sense to start with Win as a comfy introduction to computers and dev, but eventually most dev will outgrow it. Unless they really like playing games...

I’m a serious dev and I use windows. Not really any reason not to use windows for me tbh.
You also need to factor in that you don’t necessarily have a choice either, my current employer gives us a machine with windows on it. They don’t ask you what you would like.
