A really big pet peeve of mine is that we don't get teached coding in schools. Right now I'm about to finish middle school and wander of to high school. I am really surprised that my country's school system doesn't teach coding! The only way to get teached coding in our schools is in 11th grade by picking exact sciences and going to learn IT. It's really stupid when coding should start in the start of high school, in, at least, 9th grade. Really pissed me of...

Why should this particular skill be taught and not another ?

We need coders here. There are coding lectures in practically every university here, you are most likely worthless if you don't know how to code at least at the very basic level. That's why we have really good pays here for people who know how to code.

That way even something as basic as cooking should be taught in school as a life skill. The point is not to enforce students learn what they don't wanna, rather have it as an option and let then choose.

Btw, it should be taught and not teached.

Firstly: wow, thanks. Now I'm aware of myself.
Secondly: You have a good point but fun fact: we ARE getting taught how to cook! Ain't that neat?

We have it here, and when people are having trouble closing HTML tags, well, you kinda give up.
