I have this feeling in my gut that everything is wrong or is going wrong and I draw my breaths heavily like I'm lifting iron. I don't know what's wrong. There are a few stressors in my life but nothing major. Just normal life. I'm sure I have fewer problems than a lot of other people but at the same time, I'm very sure I'm not alright.

Sounds to me like a panic attack. You could be having issues because of prolonged anxiety.

Or straight up chemical imbalance in brain. Aka, you may need meds.

Either way, see a psych? If you can't, talk to your local doc?

Side note; might be other stuff like vitamin D or B deficiency too. Again, a doc visit could help.

Oh, also arrhythmia or tachycardia also cause anxiety issues sometimes. Or even diabetes, with low blood sugar.

To me it also sounds like a panic attack, but since you say there's nothing major going on it could be one of the things @NoMad mentioned

Remember that stress and anxiety are all relative and personal. What you feel for say, an impossible deadline approaching, might be incredibly intense for you and there is nothing wrong with that. Without a little stress and anxiety, nothing would get done. It’s hard to do, but try not to stress about your stress.
