Protip: Do not hiccough (hiccup) when bent over next to the corner edge of a wall.

I hiccoughed once while hanging from a bridge head first (held at my feet by friends in an effort to retrieve someone's phone). I almost suffocated in silence because apparently the safety of a hiccough depends on an upright to horizontal posture and my situation was rare enough that there wasn't an evolutionary incentive to avoid it.
