iAmNaN68458yYes, they will loathe you. Clickety, clickety, clickety, clack! Someone is going to be pulling their hair out trying to find a bug, and there is that incessant clickety clack of your keyboard. Sure, go ahead and take it in. 🙃 ☺

jchw11028yI ordered a mx blue switch keyboard. No complaints yet. It does make teleconferences interesting.

jchw11028y@iAmNaN hahaha. Thankfully most calls these days are done over Hangouts, Skype or Slack - if I go to a regular teleconference, though, I stick to the laptop keyboard.
On computers I do tend to mute my mic when not speaking, but also keyboard noise is less disruptive. People will know you're typing, but better mics, audio quality, and smarter apps generally makes it so you can hear the right stuff on top of that. -
JTBringe6098yI don't think the keyboard should be that loud, unless you type quite forcefully.
As with all keyboards, you don't need to press the key all the way down, as the keypress is registered way before you bottom out the key.
Red and Black keys are linear keys (have registration points which cannot be felt), whereas with Blue and Brown keys you can both feel and hear when the keypress is registered.
Since your keyboard uses Red switches, you can just tap the keys instead of pressing them all the way down, which should be quite silent.
Here's more info on Cherry MX switches: http://wasdkeyboards.com/mechanical... -
JTBringe6098y@iAmNaN Unless someone's using a mechanical keyboard with MX Blue keys, it shouldn't be that loud.
That is, unless they hammer down on the keys like I do.
Then it doesn't matter what kind of keyboard it is, as the force of my fingers will make it sing either way :D
This weekend, I bought a mechanical keyboard to use at work. I'm worried the clicking sound will bother my co-workers around me. Does anybody know if bringing the keyboard to work will make people hate me?
It's a Logitech G610 with Cherry MX Red switches. I ordered some rubber o-rings on Amazon to dampen the keys. They should be coming in tomorrow. Should I risk bringing the keyboard into work before I dampen the keys?
