This is not really a rant, but...dude.

I was browsing github for a suitable library when i found a test repo of someone. A script inside and at the top he wrote his authentication token. I first thought it was a placeholder or an example or a test he used. No. I entered the token and could control his instance of the app. I sent him a message to disable this token.

I know it's late but: IoT.
Why? Because i was hired to do that.

You know what I hate more than bugs/shitty docs/no VCS?

Recoding the whole damn thing in another language, from ground up to do exactly the same shit. Why WHY must developers shit hundreds of solutions into space only to say "Huh, look at my software, it was I who developed it." No, you simply recoded it and wasted your time and everyone else's time searching for a solution.

Damn. Scientific code is sure as heck not clean.

I was frustrated with how The programs in my computer (not) worked, so i wanted to change that. I started with Windows batch files and completely drifted off. I told my dad about it and he gave me a book about python. I learned JavaScript somewhere along the way and touch the basic of java. Now I am mainly a python and JavaScript guy.
