You actually get away with that?

I actually had a headhunter ask me, during an introduction call, if I "write my own code" or "just copy / paste from stuff online."

He asked it like it was just a normal question off his list or something. He was completely oblivious when I asked if he had any idea how insulting that was... I'm sure he still doesn't get it.

IMO... it depends from where and how much you edit.
