Please stop the operational system's war. People might get hurt.

Seriously guys, every time someone says X is better then Y, my eyeballs starts rolling.

(I'm a Linux && Windows user, btw.)

    Linux is trash on the desktop, sorry but I love Linux and using it on a server is the best possible, but trying to use it on the desktop is worthless, its trash guys, these guys had 10+ fucking years to write a cohesive desktop and every fucking time I say "ok, lets give it one last try" I end up regretting it, either my graphics card doesnt work from update to update or my sound stops working, its ridiculous!

    I used to love going in and finding the reason and fixing it and feeling all cool because of how much I was learning, but now I just dont give a shit, I want you to do your job and then get out of my way and with Linux I guess that's not the point of it, right? Its a platform for people to hack on and learn stuff and "getting out of my way" kind of defeats the purpose.

    I have better things to do with my time than spend hours reading what obscure errors I find and then trying to fix up software you wrote because you thought it was cool, but dont have time to write it well!!

    @chrisalexthomas Too bad it doesnt work out for you! Both me and my parents have been using it on desktop for about seven years now and never had any issues with the desktops (have used many DE's). And of course I use it for servers as well.

    And as for the post, I'm not saying its better for everyone but for me, windows has failed so many times that I've given up on it and also since the snowden leaks I dont trust much closed source software anymore.

    @linuxxx I understand you, but the mere fact that developers seem to overwhelmingly choose macbooks is a sort of validation that whilst people are not willing to give up on the toolchain. They are more than happy to give up the lousy half assed interface and bad IDEs available.

    @chrisalexthomas What's a half assed interface and a lousy ide in your opinion?

    I dont wanna get dragged into a discussion about single applications, its not about that, it's the overall interface and lack of consistency and applications together, no Linux desktop can match OSX and its been more than 15 years trying.

    @chrisalexthomas But that's about preference. I'm Happy that Linux doesn't match os x interfaces yet because I really cant work with it anyways. all a matter of preference.

    Damn you read my mind .Even I hate such comments about x being superior than Y. Linux is tons better than windows and windows is trash. !!!!!!!Sorry but I cannot resist the urge 🙂🤓😂 I have used both and I sincerely thanks the gods in heaven that they introduced me to to Linux .Before that I was a mere prisoner of a rotting hell.

    Limitation of Windows usually is what saves me. Everytime I install Linux i go down a big fat rabbit hole of XResources and i3 / openbox configurations. I don't have that problem with Windows; ninite + VS Community '17 + optionally UxStyle.

    OS agnostic here. I dont care which OS I work on, as long as I have unixutils on my win machine. Stop caring, and move on.

    @chrisalexthomas Check the elementaryOS distro.

    Well, the os you choose is about personal preference. There is no big differences in performance between them as used to be years ago. The reason people used to pick up Apple over others in the past was simply because the softwares were optimized for it. But now everything changed. Devs don't want to see their apps excluded from platforms.

    @Jormungandr well, docker solved that problem pretty well, I get all of the tools i want, without having to suffer at all
