however i only encounter this type of thing only once fortunately. past and current job recruiters actually have their CTO/senior-level engineers/somebody that actually know the field present on recruitment day/interview.

I looked into the actual company itself and it looks really interesting and a good place to work. I may just get in contact with the managers directly.
