Can I have one Ubuntu base update after which I *do not* need to go to recovery mode to reinstall Nvidia drivers, and then CPR pulseaudio into function?

Why is Ubuntu still on Pulseaudio? Pipewire does the same basic thing but it's better in pretty much every advanced use case.

The Nvidia thing is hopefully about to improve with the open sourced drivers, it's gonna take a while for new knowledge to trickle down if you're not using one of the supported cards though.

I use a GT750M which isn't an open source card, but I'm hoping that the Nouveau devs will look at the driver code and implement some improvements based on it.

@lbfalvy Ubuntu 22 is using pipewire, afaik.

But where's the fun in that

For me pipewire still doesn't work.

@jonas-w It's the default OS for researchers in my field.

    I use arch, btw.

@Zohiu AFAIK ROS is not well-supported in Arch...

In general, when research outputs are open-sourced in my domain, they usually target Ubuntu, so unless you want to gladiator-fight every single installation, Ubuntu is a good choice of an OS.

@NickyBones I know, just felt like it would be a good first ever comment on my account lol. Not saying you should switch.
