So our junior dev constantly asks really obvious things. But this one question really takes the cake.
So we have a small programm that opens a file browser and puts the selected files path in a line edit text box. So he comes over to me and says its broken because he cant edit the path in the text box. Weird, this shouldnt happen at all. Turns out this more than braindead tortoise thought it was just a regular piece of uneditable text and didnt even try to edit it. Its a FUCKING OBVOIUS EDITABLE TEXTBOX!!!!!
I facepalmed so hard that moment you could hear the slap half a mile away!

I would've taken that as valuable UX feedback that the textbox doesn't look as though it is editable/ focusable.

But I would expect him/her to at least toy around with it before reporting it as a bug rather than a potential enhancement

@webketje i would assume that when op says "FUCKING OBVIOUS EDITABLE TEXTBOX", it's a textbox with the archetypal look of an editable textbox, and the guy is just a moron.

i think the edit time limit applies to rants too, and it's like 10 or 15 minutes. meaning at the time you were writing your comment, the edit time window's already been closed.

but i might be wrong about the edit time window.

Intern stories are good.

I think my best intern story is the one where my intern burned his hand.

He tried to remove the paperjam from an industry grade printer. Yeah. Those things that have a height up to the hip, can run 24/7 and thus have a thousand warning labels printed everywhere that you shouldn't stick your hands inside it because HOT and dangerous and possible electrocution and laser inside and danger and possible death and oh did I mention danger?

It wasn't anything serious, luckily...

But as he stood in the office and told me he needs to go see a doctor cause he burned his hand I was really laughing for a sec as I thought he was joking.
