I wish there was more dedicated, physical spaces that were tailored to programmers in particular. I know there’s a lot of collectives out there, but it’s hard to implicitly discourage startup fiend management from taking it over it seems like. We should organize more around a common craft. Free mason type shit.

the thing about programmers: we live online. we don't need - or want - a "physical space"

@tosensei I mean... I'd love to be able to meet new people, hey maybe even a girl that's interested in programming

@tosensei Well, something that I have realized is that humans need social interaction to be healthy, which is… upsetting to me sometimes to say the least lol. Why not share that social experience with like minded people and help each other?

@phat-lasagna yeah, why not? i agree.

but my question is: why does it have to be a physical place, in your opinion?

physical spaces are really neat. when i worked at a coworking there were really cool talks, the only downside was the startup bs. we had popcorn every week and everyone would gather and talk about what they did, it was nice

@tosensei physical spaces are more intimate i think. you can actually connect to people over food and face to face interactions. making friends 🌈✨

@tosensei Funny thing is I actually had a chance with a cute girl back in school that was interested in programming

And then I managed to completely misunderstand all of her (pretty obvious) hints 🙃🙃

@tosensei yeah similar to what darkside said - evolution dealt us these cards I suppose to form gatherings of people. Unless ur on the transhumanism side… if you are I need to hear what’s it’s like in terms of general emotional experience just in case I decide to go that route lol
