@Demolishun Treating viral infactions after the fact still is a mostly unsolved problem. Antiviral drugs exist, but they seem to be pretty specific and despite there being more of fourty of them for treating HIV, no combination of them actually cures the patient.

And also, big pharma in general doesn't want to cure you. They want to sell you something you have to take till the end of your life. That said, it probably is still better to treat the symptoms with the available meds than having to live through them untreated...
