Model M owner here. I like it but DON'T take it in to work. You WILL annoy your co-workers! At home though, it great! It's loud enough to wake up the dead natives in the ancient burial ground your home was built on top of.

I love mine, but I don't use it that much. I did take it to work to piss people off...

@host, no but one guy kept telling me how it was driving him crazy. Then my boss told me to expense any other keyboard I wanted

I wish I would have kept any of those old keyboards. I just ordered a new mechanical keyboard for home.

I stumbled upon a subreddit deticated to mechanical keyboard users and custom makers. I was very impressed.

@LPII I've seen some crazy awesome ones. I want them all!

If you can't buy or find an old one, http://unicomp.com makes brand new ones from IBM's original molds. I have two 104 key USB model M keyboards. They even make Mac key caps if you want to use karabiner app to re-map the keys. I use one at home and one at work. I absolutely will not own any other keyboard.

i owned one.. but sad really.its with ps/2 port

@paihz, mine has an old rj terminal connector that has an adapter to ps/2 then I have an adapter from that to USB. So it is doable ;)

There's a PS/2 version on eBay from unicomp buy it now for less than $40. 2 Key caps missing, but that ain't nothing to get some caps.

Here's mine at work. My office mates now don't mind it, but I hear that we're going to move in with another department so I'm hoping this keyboard will cause a conflict that ends in my favor. (My own office.)
