I asked for SVG icons from figma design.

He did the part.

But.

He didn't group the icons
and gave me parts of it.

Well at least he is not like my former coworker who sent me all icons in PowerPoint and told me to copy paste it or drag and drop.

Ikea SVGs. You need to assemble them yourself.

Reminds me when I hopped on a project where the devs were adding svg icons individually from the design.

For the hell of it I asked if the designer if he made them himself or if he was using a source.

He gave me the source and it had everything you needed: css, fonts, svgs, whatever…

Most designers I’ve worked with struggle to export svg:s to developers.

I've found sometimes they are unaware of what the export features of their tools actually provide and it helps to sit with them on a video call and show the kinds of issues us devs encounter, and let them show how they do the exporting and together figure out which export options are necessary.
