Y does it seem to be hard to get a real book for hacking online?.
Someone should please recommend a place and a book?.

Here's an interesting place to start, a list of hackable Linux distros, ie Linux distros that intentionally have security vulnerabilities for you to learn from

But hacking is somewhat fast moving, it's hard to say "this is how you exploit security vulnerability x", because by the time that book goes to print, x has been patched.

If you need a book to learn hacking, cracking or penetration testing, you don't have the right mindset for it.

in my opinion for the same reason why it's difficult to learn hacking by trying to learn hacking.

    you don't *learn* *hacking*.
you learn programming very well, and through making mistakes that result in security vulnerabilities in your own apps, you understand what those vulnerabilities are and how to use them, and that way, via learning to be a better and better programmer,

you also gradually come to know how to hack.

but trying to learn hacking as if it was its own, separate thing?
that's stupid, because it's not its own separate thing. it's just a consequence of having lots of in-deph technical understanding and knowledge.

@himagites it's an old but almost timeless document.
For more practical security related stuff there are crypto and capture the flag challenges all over the internet

https://www.certifiedsecure.com has since good courses and lots of challenges to get you started. Font think it's free though (my company pays for them)

And I still think that this is good book for a bit more hardcore machine/software exploitation https://goodreads.com/en/book/...
