Quite honestly I like this. It's unbiased. You click on a status because you like it, not just because of the person.

For example, if @dfox posted spam (for whatever reason) people would flag it without even opening it to see who posted it. However, if they knew it was dfox then they would all ++. See my point? Some people would open the status and ++ anyways, but most wouldn't even bother because it's just spam.

I see it as a huge feature, too. Our rants master more than our identities.

We made a conscious decision from the beginning not to show usernames on the main feed because we want to give exposure to good content, without any basis of who posted it.

It's seemed to work pretty well and most people like it, so I think for the foreseeable future we want to keep it like that.

But seriously, any good ideas on dealing with those? I love this feature, but I forget about it and then at first when I saw this rant I wanted to ++ the request... And I'm sure there's a bunch more people that see it as a bug rather than a feature so is there a better way to deal with these types of features than just typing/pasting the explanation every single time?

I have seen a lot of people ask for this to be changed, but I honestly believe even more like it how it is.

Maybe a toggle? But that seems like too much trouble.

@Cyanite a toggle would defeat the purpose.
I think most people would agree with this, once they hear the explanation. The problem is that a lot of people won't see the explanation or think of it before they ask for the feature

Every friend I have on devRant and *most* users I have seen talk about it agree that adding faces to the rant feed would change what rants rise and fall.

devRant would just turn into a popularity contest where if you don't already have ++ you're not relevant. Just like Twitter and other platforms. The price of items for avatars would go down because newcomers would rise slower. Stickers and stress balls would be cheaper (but would probably still be harder to obtain (less @dfox balances them well) )

That's the thing.. Can't have coffee for now.. Anti-stress meds mess with my heart and they can be dangerous if combined with caffeine.

I went from drinking 10+ cups of coffee a day, and 2+ high energy drinks a week, to 1 cup of coffee ~3 days and no energy drinks. x.x

@Cyanite ah, yes... I drank coffee regardless of the pills :)
By now I think my heart is used to working overtime :) not a good idea, but eh... :)

My heart spazzes out randomly with these meds and it scares me. Makes me loose my breath, and I have to sit. Mine can be really dangerous with caffeine.
