    @soull00t What tech would you like having intergrated into pockets?
  • 4
    Hope they don't burn a ring into my body..

    @Oktokolo space would be a great start.

    Now that you say it, this does sound intriguing

    @Oktokolo my smartphone ^^ which would require pockets to
    - exist
    - be large enough

    i know that sounds pretty futuristic, but one should be allowed to dream ^^

    @Root, @soull00t I can (and did so) transport 3.5" HDDs in the pockets of my cargo pants. Not having enough or too small pockets seems to be a choice.

    If you want big pockets just prioritize them when buying clothes. Like all non-mainstream things, you have to search a bit - but buying clothes in general traditionally always involved a lot of searching anyways...

    @Oktokolo it is a widely known pain point for women though, i have never seen jeans etc for women with pockets.Heck, most dress slacks don't even have pockets for them.

    @Oktokolo Most women's pants have pockets large enough for chapstick and a pack of gum, and not much else. This is especially true for dress pants. Sometimes dress pants look like they have pockets, but they're just a seam. (And sometimes they do, but they're sewn shut.)

    Jean pockets tend to be a little larger (though not pairs have them). They usually fit about 3/4ths of my phone.

    Dresses with pockets are unicorns.

    Skirts never have pockets.

    @soull00t women's fashion is complete utter horse shit. Because men.

    Bullshit sizes, bullshit lack of pockets. I am so sorry for the mindblowing complete fuckery there that you have to deal with. My eyes have been opened to this extreme nonsense after I moved in with my girlfriend and went shopping with her. It pisses me off almost as much as it pisses her off

    @Root Yep. 100.000% outrageous BULLSHIT.

    Like I told @soull00t, I absolutely despise all of this and I hate that it is this way.

    The only thing I have found more infuriating than a lack of pockets is fucking FAKE pockets. like. WHY THE FUCK WOULD THEY JUST NOT MAKE THEM FUCKING REAL POCKETS, THEY'RE LIKE 90% THERE 😡😤🤬
  • 1
    @corscheid small pockets too. they're, in my not so humble opinion, about 95% as bad as fake pockets. *sigh*

    @Root "skirts never have pockets"
    this.
    my skirts are special orders to a seamstress with the explicit wish to have pockets in them (and they are not fancy or something, just very casual clothing), and i don't want to wear anything else again 🙈 in fact, my other clothes having no pockets keep me from wearing them again because i don't wanna go back. T_T

    try finding a women's running pants with adequate pockets. hehehe nope. mine i found in men's fashion and it is fine

    also, @useVim sorry for derailing the discussion XD

    @Root I get that "women's" clothing is even more a shitshow than "men's" clothing.

    But so what - "men's" clothing still exist and a lot of men actually feature women-like body sizes and proportions when we ignore the boobs (which really don't matter for legwear anyways). Pants "for men" exist in all shapes and sizes and most of them have pockets easily fitting a "manly"-sized PDA. Just search as long as every non-standard-sized man has to search and get a sortof-fitting "men's" pant. We non-standard-sized men don't get exactly fitting pants either - but cheap alteration tailors exist.

    Skirts with pockets are called "cargo kilt".

    @Oktokolo no one is talking about body shapes/sizes homie, they are talking about women's clothes being nigh impossible to fight with appropriate pockets.

    Which really, literally is fucking hard to find.

    Source: I was raised in a nail salon, this shit stands up to this day unless you find them on some obscure clothing store on the internet, will you find pockets? yes, will they be what they want? nopes
