Any good open source project for biginner? Or where to find those? I tried to find some but realize projects both interesting and beginner-friendly are really rare.

Well, sorry if this sounds harsh, but if something is interesting, chances are it's because it serves a nontrivial purpose.

And when something is nontrivial, it always has a degree of complexity that will thwart beginners.
