Very true I am only happy when there is a worthwhile challenge to be had. I rather make more if a difference than money.

@katbreitin There are so many people in the developer community who get to experience working within their passion and I want to understand what that's like

godot7997yChange or come up with a sideproject. I had a job like this once and altough I'm not really proud of it that was the most productive year for my sideprojects and private jobs.
(edit: they hired me as a programmer, but had to do marketing with no budget) -
@godot That's great advice. I'm working on a Native Android App and joined a few local user groups.

Money isn't everything.
When I graduated, I chose the job I have now because of the pay and benefits. A couple years into it, and I realize now what a mistake that was. After my first year teaching myself Apex and automating most of my team's work, I hardly spend any time as a developer because of the low number of jobs at the company that allow me to do that level of work within the first five years of employment. I've consistently asked my supervisor if I could move into a more technical space with proof of my work as reasoning to no avail. If your job pays a lot but isn't challenging, you can wind up being just as upset as if you had to work 60-70 hrs/week.
