GraphQL is just fancy SQL-queries for the FE

@SuspiciousBug funny, frontend devs took the structured part of sql out and just kept q.

Faux query structure, fqs or "fucks"

@SuspiciousBug @sariel Well, I mostly do backend, devops, architecture and general infra. work. So my perspective is a bit different in that regard. I quite dig the GraphQL thing, but definitely not for every project.

P.S. I’ve never heard UI guy tell me he wants to use GraphQL.

@yehaaw I have a team of FE devs that require my team to support graph because they refuse to use the rest API.

So now instead of features taking a day or two, it takes weeks to build the gql backend, test it, document it, ship it, make changes to it, test it..... You get the picture.

I'm all for using tech when it's appropriate, but IMO it's inappropriate when the consumer flat out refuses to use what's available given it will provide 100% functional value.

I call them scabs because they are just the surface of the problem of a demanding PO which is the real gaping wound.

@sariel Funny, first time hearing something like that.

Anyways, don’t hate the tech hate fuckers who chose wrong tech for their work (in your example, knowingly).
