Had both of them running but since nginx already had nodejs server i just added the php socket and removerd apache, its a lot cleaner now and less resources ocupied

I'm all about dat nginx, add the Lia module and darn it's extensive.
Good at proxying too, nginx isn't just for port 80

Those of you that say Apache, have you tried engine x and do you know what is all about? Because I too used Apache in the past (who didn't!) but right now it's a no brainer.

Apache is more than capable of event driven. Just cause people don't research the available worker mpm's doesn't mean it doesn't support it
