Depends where you're going and what you will be doing. Trip to Paris? Passport and maybe laptop. Gun trafficking in Chile? No passport but definitely a gun and laptop to check if the money came through.

Don't get a gun if you aren't actually willing to use it. A passport is probably a good idea if you plan on traveling. Some internet-enabled device is absolutely required to be able to write the most cryptic rants on devRant - looks like you already got that covered though...
