Windows had cost me more time.

@sam9669 what are you calling me for!?

And another person not understanding the sentence: "Free as in freedom"

    @nytrobound welll..... there's always OSX ;)
  • 1
@nytrobound I mean yeah it is expensive but hey I've had 0 OS/computer problems in the year I've had my Mac.. can't say the same about any windows laptop

    Gotta call bullshit.

@stop @nytrobound @andros705 THANK YOU. I have this funny story about a guy and his exams with windows server that nearly fucked him over hard. Shall i make a rant out of it....

Skyrockets in flight, Linux is my lifetime delight. Factors faster and no forced updates. I've saved weeks since I made the switch 2 years ago.
  • 2
Let me finish that for you... "and windows is proprietary because you don't need to know how we screw you"

The only issue I had with Linux was that my new laptop's cpu had no working driver in kernel. It came out in the latest version. Never had aby other issue though.

Every operating system has pro and cons
  • 4
@nytrobound i did not manually loaded any driver since the last 5 (or so) years, and at least youu even can download them if neccesary =P

@Salmakis Same here! Most distro's work completely fine from scratch in my case (Yeah, I've tried way too many) :)

I think that he means because it takes time to learn the commands, shortcuts, OS in general compared to whatev he is currently using.

At least from what I've seen linux is very powerful once you know what your doing.

I'm considering making the switch to linux after a lifetime of using windows. The only thing that's keeping me from doing that right now is the horror stories about compatibility problems. And I need to do some research to find out if I can even use it with my current system!

Had wasted enough time on each os to hate all of them. Linux at least lets you fix his shit

@Kryptic Feel free to tag me if you have any questions!

Why r there any upvotes on this post lol? Litterally I use Ubuntu as primary OS and it's really simplified my OS experience. Windows was slow, unreliable even with 16gb ram, i7 etc. Ubuntu works on all my PCs, was easy to install, and updating is a background task. It's so frustrating using windows and just the time maintaining my dad's P.C. (windows 10) is more time by infinite amounts (litterally) than maintaining my Ubuntu PC's. The original post doesn't make sense and should be downvoted..

@rmahey weird stuff is really get people to up vote xD
  • 2
@rmahey maybe you should make a rant about it?
  • 2
Funny how fast this became a windows vs linux rant. Come down. My vote is for FreeBSD.
