My S7 automatically lowers the screen brightness to the lowest setting when there's 5% battery left.
Happened once while I was out walking, and I thought my phone had died. Got really annoyed, because I thought the battery was starting to fail after only 9 months.
Took me a couple of minutes before I realized that the screen brightness was just at the lowest setting...

Everytime I meet the newest interns and dev hires:
-Had low battery so I put the phone on power saver mode (decreases brightness) and manually lowered it to minimum as well
-Went out
-Couldn't see shit
-Thought something is wrong with my phone
-Reset it completely
-Now the screen is fine
-The light blinked in my brain and I realized I'm an idiot
