WildCard9558yI am the opposite, I need to be listening to a podcast or music to focus on what I am working on. It is personal preference, my former boss could not stand that (he was like you and only wanted silence or general background noise). Since I work on a Windows system, I use winamp (I am so glad that I saved the last installer released).

paco5558yFrom what I've read, working in silence is usually best. I kinda don't have a choice but to listen to music because my project is technically a side-project, and I work in a contact center right next to a bunch of people who take calls.

LMagnus20578yI never listen to music when working. Prefer to work in silence.
Though tends to end up taking to co-workers/taking calls/listening to inane conversations... -
I like having music while coding... But when it stops i forget to start again because m lost in trying to find the null pointer exception in my code 😂😂😂😂😂

Do all of you guys listen to music all the time? I see a lot of rants about some music apps not working properly in some Linux distro or posts about how music helps you to concentrate on coding etcetera. And, I don't even recognize half of those music apps.
It's not that I hate music, I just don't listen to it. I prefer silence over sound waves bombarding my eardrums.
