A man should have the right to identify as and/or dress like Gaius Julius Caesar whenever and whereever he wants. And every non-man should have that right too of course.

The problem here is that they never got what freedom of self-expression actually means. It isn't just about being allowed to dress as a female (whatever that might mean) if someone checked (however that would be done) that you actually feel as a female - it is the absence of conditions for dressing however you fucking want. Wanna attend that meeting in a T-Rex costume? Sure, why the fuck not?!

Judging by what that dad was there to oppose, he obviously didn't get it either. But he definitely used his basic human right exactly what it is for: Expressing himself and his opinion.

@Oktokolo thats true. But influencing kids from a young age like that should not be allowed. school + teachers must be nutral.

@joewilliams007 I don't think, neutrality is actually possible here. Sure, they could just not mention the whole religious/gender/sexual identity complex. But that would be like excluding slavery from history class. And teachers have opinions too. So best way is to have the kids learn about different opinions and decide themselves as they come to age. Like with all the stuff they learn at school. That the gender doesn't always match the sex for everyone is part of a humanistic general education by now.

The overwhelming majority will still identify with what their chromosomes suggest. And the ones who can't will be able to live a reasonably normaly life without having to fear persecution by the state or getting eaten by the devil for their sins or something.

Back then, i got teached to run away from black people in school (seriously). I somehow am of the opinion that it is a good thing that the curiculum has changed since then...

    @Oktokolo not possible?

Half of the parents wear lgbtq clothes. That cant be just stopped? How about superstreight clothes then? Right. Both of them wouldnt be neutral but easily stopped.

Yes the students should know about different views. But not by a biased teacher who may aswell try to influence kids and spread their opinion..

@joewilliams007 As you said: The parents wear that clothes. Guess what they tell their kids and guess what the kids of the other parents will hear from that kids. Yes, it literally can't be stopped. Google the streisand effect for more information about information proliferation. You don't stop information by dictating what clothes parents are allowed to wear.

Btw, that half of em wearing that clothes probably is the counter movement to some people trying to stop the proliferation of information. I am pretty sure that most of them are actually pretty straight (apart from some "experiments" back in college after drinking too much or sharing a joint of course).

@Oktokolo well i heard some stories of teachers pushing their sexual orientation on kids. I dont know if they are true but that shouldnt be allowed and should be dictated! Aswell as teachers should be stopped from saying that lgbtq is nonsense.

And about the parents well that isnt good parenting then if they try to make their kids part of that community. Its not like the kids would have existed if everyone was like that.

And i would love to hear ur experiments when you drank too much or had a joint xD

@joewilliams007 Of course, there should be no pushing going on in any way.

Don't worry, they will not make their kids gay. It isn't that easy. Biology is pretty strong and if they are wired to be straight, they probably will fuck straight no matter how modern that currently is. It is mostly the few ones that haven't the standard wiring that might be less likely to commit suicide because they can't cope with not being able to conform to the norm. All that LGBT solidarity stuff is mostly about stopping the traditional systematic bullying. It's basically yet another equal rights movement - now that blacks are allowed to enter restaurants visited by white people and that women are allowed to vote (even over their own bodies in some countries)...

And what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas 😇

@Oktokolo you should run for Senate/state/presidency. You'd have my vote.

    👏

@Oktokolo well they selected a non eloquent man to defend common sense. And yes I know you're attempting to make the same point as his opposition.

Wonder what the kids feel like now with a 50 year old dude in a dress teaching class

@AvatarOfKaine I once was a kid myself and almost all my teachers where pretty stupid, biased and always on the wrong side of things from my historic point of view - the ones that wore dresses and the ones that didn't. Even though, hippies, browns, blacks, gypsies, and basically everyone else not looking exactly like we did where deemed lower beings, i don't think, the males also wearing dresses would have changed the school experience significantly. Sure would it have been a bit odd. But it isn't like we understood the reasonings of the old ones back then. So it would just be them wearing funny clothes for as unknown a reason as for all the other things they do.

Obviously, there where no outed LGBTQWhatever teachers back then as being homoanything was a crime and punishable by jail (or worse, corrective treatment - read about Alan Turing). Leaded gasoline also was still a thing, so that might have had some influence on us and the teachers too - or not, who knows...
