Sounds like a test of your general honesty, which is important for them to know.

Lying by omission perhaps - but NEVER an outright lie. It's just not worth it - and just the same in everyday life.

Will my boss ask me to lie to a client? Will that be one of my responsibilities?

Good answer: — We all do it, man. We always say we can code some new software feature in two weeks but we know it will take 2 days. Hahaha The rest will be spent on DevRant.

I once lied to my client that the servers were being upgraded that's why it didn't load but the reality is, the servers were down and I had no idea why and was freaking out....

counter question: 'will my employee/team leader will ask me to lie to customer?'

if the interviewer says yes, then reply: 'f**k this job, I don't want to be with the liars.'

    and see the reaction....😉

"Yes. But then again, maybe I'd lie in a job interview too. "
