How much have your grades affected your career in tech

    Needed the GPA to get in at my first employer (hard 3.8 req). After that: nada.

    Not at all. No one ever asked for grades, certificate or anything.
    4 years of CS studies were mostly a waste of my time. If I had known at the time, I would have lied to get a job instead.

    Absolutely no effect, I am completely self-taught, I believe that self teaching and making your own experience are better than any grades to advance your career in tech.

    it did effect for my first job a lot for the first round of interviews

    but not sure if they are gona effect for my next job

    Not so much grades but majoring in software development instead of computer science got me rejected for a job :(

    Sad thing is I was only two papers off from getting a double major.

    Besides getting me my first internship which turned out to be kind of boring, nothing 🙂
