    OwnCloud.
    Get an old pc, ram the thing full with hdd's and install linux & owncloud.
    poke hole in firewall for it.

    It's great. You can store your own stuff as well as for others by sharing a folder.

    You could even use it as a cloud solution for a company (ldap saves the day).
