I didn't believe it. I downloaded the data. Unless there's compound causality from a combination of factors, tabs vs spaces is the most direct correlation in that data. Even more than race or gender, or even degrees.

Why?

My only rational explanations have something to do with the flaws in the polling process that already made some discriminatory selection, or with the Stackoverflow core audience. After all, we know that their core audience is not representative of the developer audience, as Microsoft-related topics there are by far the most popular topics, when in the dev. world C, C++ and Java are the most popular languages.

@linuxxx @maryn most of sublime text users use either python or JavaScript, and since tabs are a nightmare in python my guess is they code is, so I wanted to prove my deduction skills 😂😂😂😂😂😂
