Fellow devRanaters, I'll have my first interview on Monday for a summer internship in a really good looking company. What should I do to prepare myself? Any suggestions?

    Funny you should ask that. I know exactly what to say cause I'm looking for jobs too. Not sure this would be the same for internships, but I'm hoping so.
    * Tailor your resume (and cover letter if needed) according to the job. No generic resume.
    * Research about the company and make sure you have the same interests as the company. Clearly let them know why they should hire you. One question you can expect is: Why should we hire you?
    * Show them that you're passionate about the job.
    * Be curious. Ask questions. That's how they'll know you're interested.
    * Be open to opportunities. Let's say you're applying for Full Stack developer role. Be open to take up Front End or Back End developer role. You don't have to accept everything but at least roles tangent to your job (provided they match your interest).
    * Be flexible but focused.
    * You don't have to know every listed requirement but make sure to know the majority.
    * Don't lie. "Fake it till you make it" doesn't work with dev roles.

    * Be confident in telling them "you don't know" if you don't know.

    Oh and btw, all the best. :)

    Well, since it is an internship and they didn't tell which area is available, I think I'm pretty fucked up. xD
    But thanks! I already know the company cause it is a really big comunications company in my country. But I really should learn more about what they really do.

    @aravindio Thanks for the help!!
    And good luck finding a pretty cool job! 😎

    Strange don't they mention which positions? Having a generic post about internship will earn them too much CVs to look at, and thats a waste of man power for HR, unless they like to study their options. All the best both of you, @aravindio listed all that you might/will need.

    @gitpush yeah, i know. When i submitted my CV, I didn't expect to get anything. But if I didn't submit anything, then that's for sure that nobody would call me.
    Yesterday they asked me if I still was interested in an interview. And there you've got it.
    But now I don't know what to prepare about myself to talk to, or explain. I think I'll really have to have a look at everything.

    Take it easy, just be confident, trust your skills and don't be afraid to admit you don't know or have little knowledge. If they say no != everyone will say no. Sometimes working at a well known company isn't the best thing to happen to a person. Relax and you can nail it ;)

    @gitpush thanks!!
    I'm chill with this. If they don't want me, they'll lose! xD
    But still, I want to get ready. And the girl who talked to me was really something!! Eheheheeh

    @awsomeCoder oh boy, do ignore(that.girl) or say goodbye to the internship :P

    @gitpush but I'll only stay there 1 or 2 months!!
    But yeah... She'll probably already have just the hole department watching her.
    Well.. I'll decide what to fuck when I get there. If I get there!
    Jk! 😆

    @awsomeCoder yup you're totally getting that internship with that attitude :P

    @gitpush I know.. I'll have to get more serious about this.
    But it was a nice joke!! You'll have to admit that you did laugh when you read this! xD

    @awsomeCoder I admit and I'm lucky I'm alone at office or they'd think I'm crazy :P

    @aravindio but if you say "I dont know" you might wanna say that you would like to learn it and some related techniques.
    "I dont know React but I do have experience with Vue and Angular."

    This makes it a bit more positive.
