plusgut60137yI disagree, sure there is luck involved but not that much. And skill is not the only other component either, e.g. your ability to communicate and if you are motivated are highly important factors as well.

devios157017y@plusgut Probably more important than they should be, really, and I think that was kind of @greekDev's point: interviews are not so much about what you know and what your skills are but more how well you sell yourself.
-
plusgut60137y@devios1 sure how to sell yourself is important, but I wouldn't consider that luck. That's a skill in itself.
-
plusgut60137y@greekDev how nice of you.. would you be so kind to explain what you think is wrong?
-
greekDev5747y@plusgut people are people and should not sell themselves. Only whores do that. You should be hired for your skills
-
plusgut60137y@greekDev sure this would be the ideal way, but we are living in a capitalistic society. As we are in such, i think it's not wrong to give advise to deal with it.
-
plumbus11937y@greekDev i share your idealism, and this is why i literally go hungry some days. I make very little money bc i have no self sales skill. Its very discouragi g, and i am working on it, but it is not rewarding and does not come naturally to me.
Stop giving advice for interviews. Its 20% skill and 80% luck. The rest is bullshit. Better keep your mouth shut and do your job. All you interview expert fucks.
