I think it would have to be running my own service.

It has long been a goal of mine.

What do you mean by service?

@nervousDev Without getting into specifics it would be making web applications for people.

@nervousDev for me something like say devRant, do it as a side project, grow it up to get you your income is waay better for me than working from 8 till 5:30 5 days a week just to end up with a Salary at the end of the month with little to no hair left on my head and an unhappy client + boss.
This is completely different than freelance for me

@nblackburn I just asked because "service" it's too broad... Good luck with that... If you can open source it and start a community! ( Not sure if you are talking about a private or public service)

@nervousDev It was intentional but thanks :)

@gitpush I feel you... I mean maybe you just haven't found the perfect position for you man... I'm just starting my professional career but I'm loving it. . I'm doing (starting) what I like the most... Sure I'll get bored somewhere in the future but if that happens I'll probably try to find something new like a new company, etc...

@nervousDev You have point here my friend, but switching work every year or so isn't good for my CV. Employers will get an idea that I'm a no keeper thus wont rely on me. But I guess trying to make something in my free time and see where it takes me is totally worth it.

@gitpush being a developer is a really great career making professional... You endless areas to work in and so many companies from different backgrounds, sizes and so on... Maybe freelancing is your thing and you don't know yet... Who really knows what is optimal for themselves? One thing is for sure: don't let your life be work for paying the bills...
